Here are the official rules for our weekly giveaway of a virtual ContractsCon ticket every Friday through October 9, 2026
Last updated: July 14, 2026 (Effective Date)
No purchase necessary. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning.
1. The giveaway and who runs it
In short: A weekly random drawing run by How to Contract.
The How to Contract Weekly Ticket Giveaway (the "Giveaway") is a weekly random drawing run by How to Contract, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, 9901 Brodie Lane, #160-1031, Austin, TX 78748 ("HTC"). Each weekly entry period runs from 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday through 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the following Thursday (each an "Entry Period"), and the winner is selected on the Friday after the Entry Period closes. These Official Rules govern every weekly drawing while the Giveaway runs. The Giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with LinkedIn or any other social media platform, and it is separate from any company sponsorship of our webinars.
2. Who can enter
In short: US and Canadian residents (except Quebec), 18 or older.
The Giveaway is open to legal residents of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and contractors of HTC, and their immediate family and household members, are not eligible. The Giveaway is void in Quebec and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
3. How to enter
In short: Attend at least 45 minutes of a live free webinar. Each qualifying webinar that week is one entry.
You enter a weekly drawing automatically by attending at least 45 minutes of a live free How to Contract CLE webinar during that week's Entry Period. You receive one entry for each free webinar during the Entry Period at which you attend for at least 45 minutes. No purchase or payment is necessary to register for or attend our free webinars.
Attendance verification. Attendance time is measured by our webinar platform's attendance records, using the account or registration email you used to join. HTC's records are final. Only live attendance qualifies.
Registration requirements. Your webinar registration must include your full name, company, email address, and location. You must register individually, using your own name and email address. Entries are tied to the email address on your registration. Incomplete or inaccurate registrations, registrations under another person's identity, and entries generated by scripts, bots, or multiple email addresses are void.
4. The prize
In short: One virtual ticket to ContractsCon 2026 each week, worth $395. Transferable to an eligible person. No cash substitute.
One winner each week receives one virtual ticket to ContractsCon 2026, HTC's two-day contract training event (virtual sessions October 21-22, 2026) (the "Prize"). The approximate retail value of the Prize is $395. The winner may transfer the ticket to another person who meets the eligibility requirements in Section 2 by emailing [email protected] with the transferee's name, company, and email address before the event begins. The Prize may not be sold, may not be redeemed for cash, and may not be exchanged for an in-person ticket. If the event is rescheduled, changed, or canceled, or if the ticket cannot be delivered, HTC may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any taxes on the Prize are the winner's responsibility.
5. How we pick the winner
In short: A random drawing every Friday. To win, you must be following Laura Frederick on LinkedIn and subscribed to our emails that day. One win per person per 12 months.
Each Friday, HTC will randomly draw one potential winner from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period that just closed. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries that week.
Conditions to win. To be declared a winner, the person drawn must meet two conditions on the date of the drawing. The person must be following Laura Frederick on LinkedIn, and the person must be subscribed to How to Contract's emails. If the person drawn does not meet both conditions, that entry is disqualified and HTC will draw another entry.
One win per year. A person may win no more than one Prize in any 12-month period. Entries from a person who has won within the prior 12 months are excluded from the drawing.
6. Winner notification and claiming the prize
In short: We email the winner. Claim by 3:00 p.m. Eastern on the second business day after notice, or we draw again. Canadian winners answer a skill-testing question.
HTC will notify the potential winner by email at the address used to register for the qualifying webinar. The potential winner must respond and claim the Prize by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the second business day after the date of the notification email. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and U.S. federal holidays. For example, a notice sent on a Friday must be claimed by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time the following Tuesday, or by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday if a federal holiday such as Labor Day falls in between. If the potential winner does not claim the Prize in time, is ineligible, or cannot be verified, the Prize is forfeited and HTC may draw an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries.
Canadian winners. Before being declared a winner, a Canadian resident must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by email.
Verification. HTC may require the potential winner to confirm eligibility, including residence and age, before delivering the Prize.
7. Publicity and your information
In short: Accepting the Prize means we can use your full name, photo, and company name in our publicity.
As a condition of accepting the Prize, the winner consents to HTC's use of the winner's full name, photograph or likeness, and company name in HTC's newsletter, on its website, on social media, and in other publicity about the Giveaway, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Information you provide in connection with the Giveaway, including webinar registration and attendance data, is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Webinar registration is also subject to our Terms of Service, including the mailing list and sponsor sharing terms disclosed at registration.
8. General conditions
In short: We can disqualify cheaters, and we can modify or end the Giveaway.
HTC may disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive or deceptive manner. HTC may suspend, modify, or terminate the Giveaway, or any weekly drawing, if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond HTC's reasonable control impairs its integrity, as determined by HTC. If the Giveaway is terminated, HTC may award the pending weekly Prize by random drawing from eligible entries received before termination. HTC may update these Official Rules for future Entry Periods by posting the updated rules. The rules in effect at the start of an Entry Period govern that drawing. HTC is not responsible for technical failures of webinar platforms, email systems, or internet connections that affect attendance tracking or notification.
9. Release and limitation of liability
In short: Entering releases us from claims connected to the Giveaway and the Prize.
By entering, you release and hold harmless HTC and its owners, employees, contractors, content providers, and partners from any claims, liabilities, and damages arising out of or relating to your participation in the Giveaway or your acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize, to the fullest extent permitted by law. The limitations of liability in HTC's Terms of Service also apply to the Giveaway. Nothing in these rules excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the consumer protection laws of Canada.
10. Disputes
In short: Delaware law, JAMS arbitration in Wilmington, no class actions, same as our Terms of Service.
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Giveaway will be resolved under the dispute resolution section of HTC's Terms of Service, which requires final and binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS seated in Wilmington, Delaware, and includes a class action waiver.
11. Contact
In short: Questions go to [email protected].
For any question about the Giveaway, email [email protected] with the words "Weekly Ticket Giveaway" in the subject line.
