In this past session of ContractsCon, Sterling Miller and Jonathan Perkel club their way through an indemnification claims and exclusions training. They dig into how the provisions actually work, where the money moves when a claim lands, and how to draft and negotiate the language before it matters.

This year’s theme is a two-day murder mystery training event where Detective Laura Frederick deputizes attendees to help investigate a commercial deal gone terribly and mysteriously wrong. Each session puts real contract provisions under the microscope, with expert speakers in character helping the audience figure out what went wrong. Everyone helps analyze the actual contract language, identify the drafting failures, and race to figure out what happened before Laura shares at the event’s end who and what did the deal in.

The training is sophisticated, the characters are ridiculous, and the contract issues are ones faced all the time in the real world.

See you in Philadelphia or online!
